Growing up I remember the sound the ice cream maker made sitting in the bathtub while churning. I remember the sound it makes when it is almost done. My dad continues to make good homemade ice cream at some family dinners. I occasionally still hear that sound. I do not have an ice cream maker. Perhaps one day I will aquire one myself.
This strawberry ice cream is very strawberry! When it is strawberry season this recipe is easy to whip up but it does take some time to set up. It is simple enough that my kids can make it on their own. The best part for them is letting everyone taste what they have created!
Have I mentioned yet this recipe only has 3 ingredients. Yep, just strawberries, sugar and vanilla yogurt. First, cut the tops off 20 strawberries. We made it with 15 and it wasn’t strawberry enough. 20 seems to be the magic number for us. In a blender or a food processor add all 3 ingredients.
Carefully pour the mixture into a freezer safe container and freeze for 8 hours or until set. Enjoy your frozen treat!
