Cherry Pineapple Punch
Cherry Pineapple Punch is a great party punch for all ages! This easy recipe has a couple of unexpected but well known ingredients. First you start with boiling water. Dissolve some sugar and amazingly a box of cherry jello. Put this mixture into the fridge to cool. Just before the party starts add juice, soda and almond extract. I wasn't sure of the extract so I tasted it before and after. I can't believe the difference it makes. Try it yourself and tell me which way you prefer.

The red color makes this a fun valentine's day punch. It actually is a slushy punch. Part of the recipe is combined the night before and then frozen. The trick is to allow the frozen part to thaw just enough to make a slush ...
Tropical Smoothie
One of the easiest types of recipes kids can make are smoothies. This Tropical Smoothie is something my 5 year old can make with little assistance. She loves measuring out the ingredients and dumping them into the blender. For some reason the dumping part is the favorite! We are able to practice counting and measuring with little pressure. If the measurements are not perfect the tropical smoothies recipe will not be ruined.
My Blentec blender recently broke so we have not been able to make ...

Snow is so fun to play in but having Vanilla Peppermint Hot Chocolate to warm me up is exciting too! Yesterday we woke up to a winter wonderland. Everything was covered in inches of snow. Throughout the day we still had snow flurries but then it became heavier. We woke up again to inches of snow today. As fun as it is to go outside and play in all that snow it is also fun to come inside and warm up with some vanilla peppermint hot chocolate. This easy recipe comes together quickly. The half and ...
Avengers Party Drinks
We are a household comprised mostly of girls. Little Chef Dad is determined to educate my girls with comic book characters. That means learning all about the Avengers. Today we want to share easy recipes for non-alcoholic drinks representing some of the Avengers.
My Little Chefs had a great time learning about the science behind creating the drink. How do you create the layers? Why does it work sometimes and other times it doesn't? It's great when we can mix science into anything!

Orange Cream Delight
We love to make smoothies because they are hard to go wrong. The Little Chefs are able to make their own recipes, or they are able to alter others like this one. All the ingredients are added to the blender in any order, except the ice which always goes last.
For the Orange Cream Delight Little Chef D added the yogurt.
Next the peaches and banana.
Then comes the milk.
Little Chef D and A worked together to get out the orange juice concentrate. That was a hard task because it was ...
Cinnaberry Peach Delight
We hope you are enjoying your summer. It has been so hot here we are drinking whatever we can find! Little Chef A has been asking for a long time to make up her own recipe. Well....she has done it! I let her create her very own smoothie recipe. This is her very first of many, I'm sure! How did this come about?? Well, I let her know what ingredients we had available and let her decide how much of what she wanted to include in the smoothie.
She chose 1 cup of frozen mixed berries.

Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie
School is almost out and summer is right around the corner. Fun smoothies is a great way for kids to 'cook' in the kitchen. Smoothies are quick and easy! Strawberry Lemonade has only 5 familiar ingredients; strawberries, banana, lemonade, a squeeze of fresh lemon and ice.
Little Chef C combined everything in a blender. Juicing the lemon was the hardest part. She needed help from Little Chef Dad to squeeze it hard enough to produce any juice! She also needed help pouring the lemonade because ...

Five Little Chefs - Fuzzy Navel Smoothie
Smoothies are easy for kids to make at any age. Usually they are dump and blend recipes. This Fuzzy Navel Smoothie is no different. The Little Chefs each took a turn to dump in the ingredients. No measuring was required. A little more or a little less of something is just fine.
After it was all blended together it was time to enjoy! This recipe made a lot! We just barely finished it all. Little Chef H loved drinking a little then pulling the ...
