It seems only appropriate to share our personal 10 Reasons Why You Should Have Brain Surgery just days after the second surgery. We came up with these about a year after Haley’s first surgery. Brain surgery is terrible, the recovery is terrible and very very long. We were finally out of the really yucky stuff we were dealing with and were able to find some humor in our journey.
10 Reasons Why You Should Have Brain Surgery
You can start comparing things with brain surgery, “Compared to brain surgery _______ isn’t bad.”
You win the “my scar is better then your scar” battle.
You don’t need to cook because, “I’m not hungry!” Everyone else will fend for themselves.
You are able to watch your favorite movies over and over again, most of the time with you eyes closed.
You are able to save on your power bill because the lights are turned off and the drapes are drawn. Why you ask? “It’s too bright!”
You have a free pass to yell at everyone but they are not allowed to yell at you because, “It’s too loud!”
You can stay in your comfortable pajamas all day long because you don’t need to wash your hair AND you are just going to lay on your bed or couch anyway.
You can blame everything on the hole in your head.
You are secretly in charge of everything that goes on around you without your opinion even being asked.
You can use, “That hurts my head!” to get out of absolutely anything.
These are funny to us because all the quoted lines are from my then 2 year old. She would scream these lines to us all the time. Of course she was in a considerable amount of pain that I can only imagine — but yes, she screamed no matter if we helped or or didn’t. It was a lose lose situation for a very long time.
