Pre-made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are very convenient. We were at Costco a while ago and Little Chef Dad wanted to buy some from the freezer section. I understand they are great to take for a last minute outing or drive through the canyon, but I have a hard time paying that much for something I can make at home for MUCH less.
We have used these molds before for Chicken Pot Pie Turnovers. This time we made our own pre-made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It was very simple. All the Little Chefs were able to do this and they have made more since they loved it so much!
The first step is to use the mold to cut a circle out of a piece of bread. My Little Chefs ate the discards as quickly as they were cut.
As you can see there is a line down the middle of the circle from the mold. It was easy for my Little Chefs to spread peanut butter on one side and their favorite jelly on the other.
Using the mold again the bread is folded in two and the edges are pinched together.
Just to be sure, sometimes Little Chef A squeezes it really hard!
We made an entire loaf and froze them. They were easy to make, easy to freeze, and easy to grab at the last moment.

Pampered chef also has a great pb & j (smuckables) press that my son loves to make all his sandwiches into. I also found a smuckables holder at a yard sale that makes it all the more fun!
