Who Feeds The Fish {Printable}

When you have a pet that needs to be cared for a schedule is necessary. All kids want their turn to help out but they also want fairness and equality. Having a schedule will ensure fairness and everyone will know who has a turn on what day.

A nice coworker at Little Chef Dad’s work learned that we do not allow pets at our house. We do not ever want a dog or a cat or anything. My kids are welcome to walk the neighbors dogs (which they love to do), or play with friends bunnies, kittens or birds. We already have a houseful of kids and we love the flexibility to leave whenever we want without wondering who will take care of the animal.

This coworker visited an aquarium and brought back a small plastic aquarium with a pretend goldfish inside. She also bought a real goldfish for our kids because she thinks all kids need a pet…at least a fish. When Dad’s employees saw the goldfish they decided to add a fish bowl and a beta fish to the surprise. When Dad went back to work after taking a day off for spring break he had two living surprises on his desk.

When he brought them home my kids were super excited! We told them the story. They asked if we were going to keep them. We said yes we will keep them, they were a present. That is when our words backfired on us. I should have seen it coming! My oldest said what we need to do is get someone to buy us a dog for a present and then we will be allowed to keep it. Yea right! If that ever happens the dog will not last a day in our house, it will be returned to the gift giver immediately!

Since acquiring the fish, my Little Man enjoys pulling a stool over to the counter to see the fish. Fish! Fish! He will sit and watch it while trying to put his hands in and touch the rocket ship or fake plants inside.

My girls on the other hand argue over whose turn it is to feed the fish every morning and every night.

Grab your Who Feed The Fish schedule. It is created as a 4×6. Just upload it to a one hour photo place. Once it is printed fill it in and put it in a frame by the fish. Fairness and equality here we come!

I am a mom to Five Little Chefs who love to cook and create anything with their hands. Watching over 10 additional hands keeps me busy but is so much fun! We laugh and cry everyday, but then want to do it again the next day. That is how we know we are enjoying life!
