Mango and Kiwi Sauces

Whenever we watch cooking shows and they make desserts they usually have beautiful sauces to compliment the main part. It doesn’t look that hard to make so we decided to give it a try for the first time ever! We found these mango and kiwi sauce recipes within a dessert recipe. We always need to have a recipe when we try something for the first time. I’m trying to teach my Little Chefs they need to have a base knowledge before they start creating their own recipes.
To our surprise both sauces were made the same way. This made us think we could do the same with any type of fruit we chose. The first step is to peel the fruits and cut them into smallish pieces. I had to help my Little Chefs with a portion of this step.

Second, place the fruits in a food processor and blend until it is smooth. This is an easy step for even the smallest Little Chefs.

Third, only for the kiwi, we strained the sauce because we wanted to take out most of the seeds. Prior to straining it looked like a big bowl of seeds, not very appetizing!

Fourth, enjoy your sauce! The mango sauce was great. The kiwi sauce, in our collective opinion, will not be made again. Maybe if we added a sweetener it would be a lot better! The good thing is now that we know one way to make a sauce we could make some great fruit sauces for our favorite brownies!

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow and link up what you have been up to at Fantastic Thurday!
