Spaghetti Gelato

Spaghetti Gelato is so fun to make with Little Chefs! This idea came from Cafe Bella Rue. You can make this for a fun dessert or would even be great for April Fool’s day! Actually, my Little Chefs LOVE planning Halloween parties. This would be a spooky dessert if we named it bloody brains! It would even be great for April Fool’s Day.

Spaghetti Gelato is an amazingly fun dessert recipe. Everyone loves this fun twist on ice cream and strawberries.

The key to this dessert is to freeze the rice strainer and the serving plate. I had to explain this to my Little Chefs. If the gelato or ice cream is cold and it is pressed through something warm onto a warm plate what will it do?……It will melt! This is a dessert your Little Chefs can make in front of their friends and impress the socks off them!

Here is the frozen potato ricer, similar to the OXO Good Grips Potato Ricer, on the frozen plate. Fill the ricer with gelato or a HIGH quality ice cream. You will not obtain good results with a low quality ice cream.

Squeeze the gelato/ice cream out onto the frozen plate. Your Little Chefs might need a little assistance depending on their arm strength. Doesn’t it look like spaghetti noodles! Amazing!

Spoon your strawberry sauce, representing marinara sauce, onto the gelato/ice cream noodles.

Place white chocolate shavings on top, representing parmesan cheese.

Serve immediately! Little Chefs A and C gave it a big thumbs up!  Ok, I admit, I was loving it too! It was fun because the format was totally different!

My Little Chefs would love "tricking" someone with this recipe. I'm sure next April this will be on the menu for Dad because of course he wouldn't remember!
