Chalk Couture

Good old fashioned chalk boards are back. Perhaps not in schools, but in homes, stores and at parties! Chalkboards allow your creativity to take over. You don’t need to be super creative or perfect the first time because if you don’t like it, just erase and start all over again.

Let me introduce you to Tara Roark and her company Chalk Couture. She has elevated the plain old chalkboard to new heights. Here are 3 reasons I love Chalk Couture.

1. The chalk boards are magnet boards. I find myself with so many schedules or important papers I need to keep track of. If I do not use a magnet and put them “in my face” I will loose them. Typically this is the refrigerator but this chalk board can make even schedules look nice. I find or make so many cute magnets this is a place to put them to show them off, even on their own without holding anything up.
   
2. Chalk Couture boards are always dressed up. They have fancy frames around each chalk board which instantly transforms them into a piece of art. You can have something cute and functional hanging up on your wall!
   
3. This is my favorite part — Chalk Paste and Transfers. Tara has super cute stencils that you can temporarily attach to the chalk board. Using a paint brush you can apply their chalk paste to the stencil. When you peel off the stencil you have perfect lines. I love this so much because they have quotes/saying for holidays that is in a much cuter font them my handwriting. If you want a reindeer for Christmas but can’t draw it, just stencil and chalk paste it. It washes off like chalk but it will not brush off. Watch this video and you will be amazed at how easy you can make cute wall art.
   

Chalk Couture is a Utah based company. They currently have a campaign on kickstarter. If you are unfamiliar with Kickstarter it is an all or nothing program. Companies like Chalk Couture post a campaign for 30 days and ask for backers to kickstart their buisness. If they get all their funding then the backers will soon receive their product. However if they do not reach their funding goal it will take a lot longer for the company to get their products to market. Chalk Couture has some really fun rewards for funding. The best is a over night hotel stay with dinner and studio time!
