We love October in our home! The anticipation of celebrating a birthday, deciding which costume to wear and decorating for Halloween makes this month exciting.
Some days are good and some are bad for Haley. We needed a Halloween activity we could do if she was having a day where she didn’t want to see anyone new. We needed an activity we could do in the cold with popcorn and hot chocolate. Either one on their own is a party at our house, but both popcorn and hot chocolate is an extra special treat. Letting them have hot chocolate in a special cup and in the car will be an activity they will talk about for a long time and request each year. It doesn’t take a lot to make my kids happy!
You can play this Halloween scavenger hunt game in the car or on a walk depending on the weather and time of day. Go around your neighborhood in search of these images decorating houses and yards. You can choose if you want to stop at five in a row or go for blackout.
How festive is your neighborhood? If you haven’t noticed in previous years play this game and you might be surprised. If your neighborhood isn’t as festive you might need to visit a friends neighborhood. Keep your scavenger hunt card in the car and search on your way to school or after school activities to keep your little ones busy. Need another idea? Search Halloween books for these images.
Come back the next few weeks for more Halloween food and activities. Fantastic Thursday will start up again this Wednesday night at 10pm.
