After printing and putting together a photo book with jump rope songs my girls had some words for me. They did not like some of the versions of the songs and they informed me of other jump rope games they play. I decided to take their suggestions and create part 2 of the jump rope songs.
My girls like this version of Ice Cream Soda better. They say it is an updated version. Wow, now I really feel old.
School – this game is played one at a time until a mistake is made. Not only does it require a lot of jumping but it requires even more running.
Helicopter is a song I remember, but these are the (updated) words my kids sing at school.
Mouse trap is a back and forth game. The jumpers run from one side to the other as the rope changes directions while trying not to get caught in the rope.
Skip Counting – Practice your math as you jump. Instead of counting by 1’s try 2’s or 3’s.
Water Splash – Get wet while jumping rope.
Tie Shoes – Sometimes shoe laces are so small to use to practice. Practice using a jump rope around your waist or legs.
Jumping rope in one way or another gets your kids moving this summer. Package up a new jump rope and print these at your local photo store to put in your summer fun bucket.
Don’t forget to print the Jump Rope Songs Part 1.

Can’t wait for my granddaughter to be old enough to play with a rope. Thanks for linking up at Thursday Favorite Things!
