Teacher appreciation can be celebrated year round because our teachers work hard all year. My kids go back to school today in a new grade because we are on a year round schedule. If you have noticed I have been a little MIA because my kids have had 3 weeks for their summer and we were gone all but a handful of those days. I shared about the Junior Ranger Program we did while on a 10 day vacation. We have also done swimming, parties, family reunions, movies and anything else we could cram into that short time. I think they are ready to slow down and get back to a routine. My kids are always excited to get supplies to take to school to contribute to the classroom. We thought, why not begin the year by expressing thanks to our teachers with items they need for the year.
One thing our teachers are constantly requesting is expo dry erase markers. This is not a sponsored post, but I find it interesting the teachers ask for this brand specifically. I don’t use dry erase markers much but they must know what works the best and lasts the longest since they use them every day. I was just at Walmart and they had them on sale so I grabbed one package for each teacher. Instead of giving them the package I thought we could add a cute saying and package them as a bunch. These are easy crafts, so simple to create and so fast. They are perfect for a last minute back to school night or first day of school gift.
Supplies Needed:
- Dry erase markers (or any bunch of school supply such as pencils, pens or glue sticks)
- rubber band
- ribbon
- twine
- hole punch
- scissors
- teacher appreciation printable
Directions:
- Print off the teacher appreciation printable. Cut around the circle with your scissors. Punch two holes off centered at the top. I wanted the bow to be a little to the left instead of in the direct middle. You can choose what you prefer.
- Use a rubber band to bunch the dry erase markers together. This holds them tight together. I could not get the ribbon to hold tight enough on its own. Using a ribbon tie a single knot.
- Lay a piece of twine across the ribbon.
- Tie the second knot with the twine sandwiched in between so it doesn’t come out.
- Put the two ends of the twine through the two holes in the printable. Tie it in a bow, cut the ends to the desired length. You are finished.
Look how fun it is with a bunch of pencils. It would also be great with a bunch of sharpies or pens or whatever school supply your teacher is requesting.
My girls are so excited to start the year off bringing a gift to their teachers. Bring on the new school year! This is our last year of year round then we go to traditional. Wahoo!
