Potty training is a BIG event. As a parent I look forward to this day just as much as my kids look forward to their birthdays. Why not celebrate it just as much?! I have potty trained 4 kids so far. My son is my last one and I am SO excited. I decided that this time around we are going to have a big potty training party. We are going to celebrate with ...
Happy Thanksgiving
I love Thanksgiving because it is a time when we get together with family and friends. We have three Thanksgiving meals that we attend, though not on the same day.
The first meal we have is with our friends sometime in November. We all used to live within blocks of each other but now we are not, in fact I moved the furthest away. This year was our 4th annual Fakesgiving-as we call it. My kids look forward to this meal every year because these are friends we can count on. These are my ...

Thanks for RISING to the Task
My kids were out of school for 3 weeks in July. We (my kids and myself) were gone for pretty much that entire time. We had 2 family reunions, went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon then all the way down to Carlsbad Caverns (stopping at many places to see in between), up to my parents cabin, swimming, rodeo, shooting bows and arrows....a lot of family time. We had SO much fun that we were exhausted at the end. We came home to a party, had one day to regroup and prepare for school then off we ...
Animal Jokes #1
Last week I shared our first installment of Jokes for Kids - School Lunch Box Jokes. My kids had so much fun taking them to school and sharing them with their friends. Their favorite joke was "What did the pencil say to the scissors?" In fact one friend loved them so much she was sharing jokes with my daughter to use for later.
This next week instead of school jokes we are doing animal jokes! 5 days full of laughs about animals.
Don't forget to print and cut out the jokes before ...
Who Feeds The Fish {Printable}
When you have a pet that needs to be cared for a schedule is necessary. All kids want their turn to help out but they also want fairness and equality. Having a schedule will ensure fairness and everyone will know who has a turn on what day.
A nice coworker at Little Chef Dad's work learned that we do not allow pets at our house. We do not ever want a dog or a cat or anything. My kids are welcome to walk the neighbors dogs (which they love to do), or play with friends bunnies, kittens ...

Get To Know LDS Apostles
General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints occurs the first Sunday in April and October. I have created a general conference packet to get to know the First Presidency and LDS Apostles to keep hands busy but hopefully not mouths as we watch. In this packet you will learn three facts about each person and will have a corresponding activity or food item to reinforce that fact.
In my home we watch conference on our television. I like my kids to listen but it ...
Lucky Clover: St Patricks Day Crafts
I love shopping the after holiday sales. This is where I find a lot of my fun crafting supplies. This past January I went to an after christmas sale and found some green burlap ribbon. I knew I could make one or two St Patricks Day crafts of some sort.
I love a white frame with a simple picture inside. I decided to create a clover out of the burlap ribbon. The tricky part is making a clover the right size when the ribbon isn't wide enough, but I was able to figure it out. If you ...
Father’s Day Gum Wrapper
I have already told you my girls LOVE planning for holiday's. The day after Mother's Day they started planning an easy craft for Father's Day! One thing they all decided is that Dad likes gum. He always has a pack in his car, on his dresser and in his church bag. My three year old now shares the love of gum (much to my dismay) and knows where to search to get a piece when she wants one. Dad doesn't like this so he tries to remember to hide his gum.
In honor of our Dad who loves gum I have ...
